Innocents will not be arrested, says ADGP Alok Mohan

Alok Mohan, Chief of Police (Law and Order), visited the Bantwal police station on June 15, after the recent riots in Kalladka. He assured on the occasion that no innocent person will be arrested.

Speaking to reporters after examining files at the station, the ADGP said that there should be no room for disruption of peace in Kalladka frequently. Disturbing elements must be identified and action must be taken against them, he added.

Referring to the arguments of relatives of a few detainees in connection with the recent confrontation that they were innocent, he said that it would be noted and verified. The culprits behind the recent disturbances will not be forgiven, he reiterated.

The ADGP also referred to social media messages aimed at disrupting harmony and added that the SP would initiate a severe action against the culprits.

As for rumors that a wounded and accused in the clash escaping from the hospital, he said that local police would look into the issue and initiate necessary actions.


IGP Harishekharan, Bhushan G Borase, additional SP Vedamurthi, DySP C R Ravish and Bantwal police officers were present.
