Alok Mahan - ADGP, IPS Alok Mohan , who served as Inspector General of Police, (Western Range), Mangalore from August 2010 to December 2011 has been promoted as the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Recruitment and Training, Bangalore. He took charge of the post on January 2. Alok Mohan was transferred from Mangalore last month and Pratap Reddy was appointed as his successor. He was not given any post at the time of transfer. Now, the state government has announced his appointment as the ADGP. Alok Mohan , who takes the credit for the reduced crime rate in Mangalore during his stint as IGP, has been one of the most admired top police officers in the region. Speaking to the pressurists after holding a review meeting of police officers at the District Police Office, Mohan said police had taken a serious note of the aggression and attempted to assassinate Commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis, Deputy Commissioner Shilpa Nag and Accountant Kantharaj, when they raided a sand extraction site in Kandlur near Kundapur.
