Mr. Alok Mohan is an Indian Police Service (IPS) Officer of 1987 Batch of the Karnataka Cadre. He is presently serving as the Additional Director General of Police in charge of Law and Order for the state of Karnataka and heads the law enforcement machinery for the Karnataka State Police.
He was the winner of prestigious President of India Police Medals for Distinguished Services as well as for Meritorious Services. He was awarded with the prestigious United Nations Medal while working as a Commander for the International Police Task Force (IPTF) in the United Nations Peace Keeping Operations in the Bosnia– Herzgovina.

Academic Period

  • Mr. Alok Mohan completed his Masters of Science (M.Sc.) with Honours in 1985 from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Rookee.
  • (M.Phil.) Master of Philosophy in 1987 from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
  • He pursued his Master in Public Management (MPM) in 2012 from the Kennedy School of Govternment, Harvard University, USA and Lee Kuan Yew (LKY) School of Public Policy Singapore University.
  • His Specializations during the Masters in Public Management include Home Land Security Management, Strategic Management, Strategic Communications, Decision Making, Public Policy Management among others.

Professional Training Period

  • Mr. Alok Mohan had the Civilian Police Training.
  • He is one of the selected few IPS officers to be part of the prestigious ‘Command Course for the Senior Police Officers ’ with the British Police where in he had close interaction with the Senior Officers.
  • He attended Advanced Management Programme of the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) Hyderabad in 2009 wherein he got management inputs at the Management Institute at Maastricht, Netherlands and had close interaction with the top management of the Multinationals at the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, France and Switzerland.
